How to Best Slow Global Warming

The largest greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide. Reduction in carbon dioxide emissions is receiving international attention and partnerships have been created to help slow human released greenhouse gases. A development called carbon capture and storage (CCS) has been implemented for research and development to lower emissions from its primary source, coal power plants. CCS technology is part of the “clean” in “clean coal”. This chemical engineering challenge will call for the largest man-made chemical process in history. Newly investigated materials and techniques that have proven to show promise will be reviewed.
