Happy New Year and welcome to the first edition of 2008 as we proudly enter our 24th season of IMAGES! There’s always a lot happening at College of DuPage. If you’ve been staying up to date with IMAGES! you know that. Before ushering in a new year of interesting activities, programs and progress, let’s glance back and recap some highlights from 2007.

The demand for skilled medical imaging professionals is on the rise as technological advancements continue to improve the means and accuracy of detecting and diagnosing diseases and medical disorders. Students enrolled in College of DuPage’s Diagnostic Medical Imaging programs have an opportunity each year to showcase their studies and achievements at the Pathophysiology Panorama. Images! was at the sixth annual event, scanning the exhibits and participants, to examine the students’ findings and learn more about the increasing career opportunities in this exciting field.

College of DuPage offers a variety of Study Abroad experiences and this year’s summer program is a five-week immersion in the language and culture of beautiful Costa Rica. This unique learning adventure offers students the opportunity to study the Spanish language while living among the people and the culture of a country that is as rich and exciting as the land itself, from beachfront to rain forest.

Congratulations - the Older Adult Institute is twenty-one! OAI may only be one year older, but thanks to the variety of life-long learning experiences offered in the humanities, sciences and fine arts, participating students are many years wiser. The Older Adult Institute finds this continuous coming of age a cause for celebration. Proving that you’re only as old as you feel, OAI members know that every birthday is a great reason to have a party.

You don’t need to travel to Cannes to see the finest in international cinema. Global Flicks offers screenings of carefully selected international films at the McAninch Arts Center with faculty-led discussion following each showing. Global Flicks is pleased to announce their schedule for 2008 and invites students, faculty and community members to attend more than just an entertaining night at the movies – it’s a chance to participate in cultural and global-awareness raising events.
