Abstract

…we’ll celebrate the success of our latest graduating classes…

…learn about ways College of DuPage is making things easier for incoming and returning students…

…and spend some time with this year’s overall Outstanding Faculty Member…

Graduation is a time of celebration – to honor achievement, and look forward to the future. Attendees of College of DuPage’s 39th annual commencement ceremony were reminded of this by COD President Sunil Chand and several guest speakers. And what a celebration it was - with words of inspiration and the distribution of well earned degrees and certificates. 450 graduates attended the ceremony and approximately 2,300 students graduated from College of DuPage this year. Also, 117 graduates were honored at the 14th annual GED Commencement ceremony.

A Library Technical Assistant, or LTA, is an important member of the library team that assists librarians with circulation, reference, technical processing and audio-visual services. College of DuPage offers an LTA program that trains these essential paraprofessionals through a combination of classroom lectures, hands-on exercises and field trips. And graduates of the program have an opportunity to showcase their professional portfolios to potential employers, colleagues and the general public.

Each year College of DuPage honors one educator who stands above the rest as its overall Outstanding Faculty Member. For the 2005-2006 academic year, this distinction is awarded to Professor of Psychology, Russ Watson. IMAGES! would like to congratulate Russ Watson – not only for receiving the recognition of overall Outstanding Faculty Member, but also for doing the work with a commitment to learning that has earned him the respect and made him such a valuable member of the college. Russ is just one of many high-quality educators inspiring College of DuPage students.

In a continuing effort to make enrolling in classes easy and trouble free for students, College of DuPage is pleased to announce several programs designed to streamline the registration process: Automatic pre-requisite checking, on-line registration, and a new and flexible payment plan.
