Abstract

… we’ll welcome opportunity on a Road to Success in Hospitality…

… explore the Burgundy and Beaujolais regions of France…

… and satisfy our sweet tooth with a trip to the candy shop…

For 25 years Images has been a bearer of good tidings, celebrating the holiday season by reporting on the events and festivities that spread cheer throughout campus and the community. Continuing our year-long retrospective in honor of Images’ 25th anniversary, we take a look back at the building of a Christmas tradition.

Providing comfort and joy isn’t just for the holidays – for the millions working worldwide in the hospitality industry, it’s a rewarding full-time career. College of DuPage courses in Foodservice Administration, Culinary Arts and Hotel and Lodging Management prepare students for a profession with the direction and training of expert faculty and staff. The opportunities for career growth are quite welcoming for students following a Road to Success in Hospitality Administration.

For many, traveling to France can be an opportunity to enjoy fine wine, excellent food, see beautiful landscapes or immerse themselves in cultural sightseeing or night life. Students enrolled in the field studies course, “Adventure in France – Wine and Gastronomy Tour”, get to experience it all… while earning credit. They tour the French countryside, sampling regional delicacies and learn about the major French wine-producing regions through classes and tastings at local vineyards. The trip is a rich experience in cuisine and culture.

Want to create a buzz at the holiday party? In this seasonal What’s the Buzz segment, Images reporter Rebecca Portwood spends some time with COD’s Chef Thielman, putting a creative twist on some time-honored treats.

College of DuPage’s Small Business Development Center assists local businesses in improving operations as well as entrepreneurs with starting and managing new business ventures. They’ve helped many people armed with an idea, and a healthy dose of ambition, make their business vision a reality. Including a mother-daughter owned gourmet chocolate company. Let’s visit Chocolatier Amore, a place where chocoholics are tantalized with a unique chocolate experience and the proprietors’ sweet dreams are coated with the rich taste of success.
