Each year College of DuPage honors one educator who stands above the rest as its overall Outstanding Faculty Member. For the 2007-2008 academic year, this distinction is awarded to Assistant Professor of Hotel and Lodging Management, Mary Beth Leone. IMAGES! would like to congratulate Mary Beth – not only for receiving the recognition of overall Outstanding Faculty Member, but also for her commitment to learning that has earned her the respect and made her such a valuable member of the college. This December students can escape the chill of a northern winter to snorkel and kayak on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Exercise your sea-sport skills, learn about the ecosystem and interact with fascinating marine life. IMAGES! dives right in to learn more about this trip, and how COD’s Field and Interdisciplinary Studies immerses students by venturing beyond the traditional classroom.

Each spring the College of DuPage Horticulture department invites the public into their greenhouse for a free open house. The day is packed with fun activities like tours of the horticulture facilities, guest speakers, a container planting demonstration and a raffle. Rebecca Portwood dropped by this year’s open house to unearth what, aside from the pollinating bees, is buzzing in the garden this year.
