Abstract

"Images," College of DuPage's monthly one-half hour television show, features in its October/November edition segments on the thriving Manufacturing Technology program and the new truck driving school. Each month, Images highlights the personalities, news and curriculum of a vibrant College of DuPage campus. The show airs on 13 area cable television stations. The October/November edition highlights the Manufacturing Technology program. Jim Filipek, program coordinator, speaks about the continued high demand for qualified manufacturing employees during the recession. The program also partners with local companies for training needs, such as Flexco in Downers Grove. This month's edition also features a segment on the College's new truck driving school. Licensed by the Illinois Secretary of State to provide Commercial Driver's License instruction, College of DuPage Continuing Education is partnering with Bell CDL Enterprises, Inc., to prepare students for CDL certification. Students can choose between the 240-hour course or the 160-hour course depending on previous experience. Since the program began in January 2012, the program has experienced 100 percent job placement.
