I have always been intrigued by abstract art. I especially enjoy the way that a painting can elicit uniquely personal thoughts and feelings from the viewer. My primary goal in painting is to create images that will evoke thoughts or entice feelings and emotions from the viewer. I also work to create a sense of depth or movement within the piece. I like to call my style the “controlled accident” technique. Rather than using conventional brushes, I smear paint onto my canvases to produce my results.
I sometimes think of my paintings as atmospheric dreamscapes or technicolor landscapes but of course the viewer will decide what they see. I hope my paintings draw the viewer in to look closer and closer and see the visual poetry within.
