This presentation describes the lifestyle that most Americans chose to live during this era. Suburbia was a type of community that took over the United States, and with this new style of home came a new culture as well. This paper explains the type of culture during the 1950s and describes what aspects were important to Americans during this time in contrast to what other nations were centered around. This presentation explains how the culture during the 1950s reflects the culture in American society today; a culture centered on consumerism and materialistic goods. The major goal of this paper is to demonstrate the central themes in American society and the period in history where these themes became prominent.
