Description
Although the Big Bang’s existence is a theory that is heavily supported, the galaxy formation period is a time frame that, with specific data, can be distinguished with redshift, iron abundance, and prevalence of ionized gas. The purpose of the project was to specifically discern the starting and ending period of galaxy formation. From the metallicity of the galaxies to the UV light emissions, we analyzed the stage of growth that galaxy is in, using redshift along with recessional velocity. Through calculations and research, we found that galaxies with a redshift of 2 or higher have little prevalence of UV radiation, meaning any number less than 2 in redshift is further formed, also supported by the abundance of iron. Even by simply looking at the galaxy shape, we can further understand its present stage of growth. By clarifying the start and ending period of galaxy formation, we can understand how many more galaxies will fully evolve with time, and how soon after the Big Bang these galaxies formed.
