Abstract

Tackling and managing the massive array of reference tools in the field of U.S. military history, this selectively annotated bibliography covers land, air, and naval forces, with separate chapters on major American armed conflicts. Other chapters cover electronic resources, organizations and associations, museums, archives, and libraries. The author has included atlases, chronologies, bibliographies, biographical dictionaries, indexes, abstracts for journals, glossaries, and encyclopedias, with brief descriptive annotations on most entries. This work is a pertinent addition to the general reference collections of public and academic libraries as well as to special libraries, government documents collections, military and intelligence agency libraries, and historical societies and museums. Those conducting research in the field of military history will find it indispensable.
