Abstract

… we’ll tee off at the annual Foundation Golf Outing …

… tour the brand new Early Childhood Center …

… and let shining stars guide our way to success that begins at COD …

It’s that time of year again – when the heat of summer melts into the crisp days of fall; relaxing days of summertime fun are replaced by the promising excitement of heading “back to school”. Just as students prepare for the start of a new school year, faculty, administrators and staff kick off each new year by attending the All College Workshop. The event is an annual welcoming day for all College of DuPage employees. It’s also a day to celebrate successes and embrace the challenges of the coming year. The theme of this year’s workshop was “Shining Stars”. Throughout our program we’ll have the pleasure of gazing upon a few of these stars – that is we’ll be getting to know some COD graduates who were recognized at this year’s All College Workshop.

Perhaps you’ve been watching the progress and noticed that the construction of the colorful building on the west side of Lambert Road is complete. The 22,500 square foot structure is the new home of College of DuPage’s Early Childhood Education and Care program and the Student Parent Co-op. The ECEC program offers a combination of classroom instruction and supervised, hands-on experience that prepares students for direct entry into the field of Early Childhood Education and Care. Let’s take a sneak peek at what awaits parents, students, teachers and children in this brand new facility. Everyone is welcome to attend the Early Childhood Center Open House on Saturday September 15th, from 10 to 11:30 am.

What kind of fundraising drive can be measured in both dollars and yards? The 25th annual Golf and Tennis Outing hosted by the College of DuPage Foundation. The outing was held again at the White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville. This year the event was partnered by COD’s Hospitality Administration Program to raise additional funds for a special hospitality program endowment. The participants enjoyed a day of practicing their strokes on the world-class fairways and courts while helping to raise scholarship money for the promising students of tomorrow.
