Abstract
Fall prevention is key to maximizing positive patient outcomes in-hospital. Fall prevention at home also plays a large role in a person's overall health. Preventing falls reduces complications related to overall recovery, impaired mobility, impaired cognition, infection, reduced psychological well-being , and cargiver fatigue. Fall prevention also prevents higher healthcare costs to the patient and the health care system.
