Description

Students had to analyze a character from one of the many plays read and discussed during this semester. For this project my group chose Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun. From this play, we analyzed the character of Beneatha. Throughout this play we encounter racial barriers and gender roles. Hansberry challenges those issues especially through the character of Beneatha. She stands out from most African American woman at that time because she is going to school to become a doctor and is not following the “traditional” role. To express and explain our research on Lorraine Hanberry, the play, and the character of Beneatha we have created a poster presentation.
