Description
College of DuPage (COD) administration charged Phi Theta Kappa with the mission of mitigating basic needs insecurities (BNI) at COD. Students conducted research to propose the formation of a BNI Committee and additional BNI support. The study identifies COD students' most critical needs through: interviewing and surveying faculty, students and staff. The student researchers studied peer-reviewed research articles on BNI to develop a literature review and attended conferences to gather information about BNI initiatives world-wide. They conducted over 200 surveys and 40 interviews at COD. In addition to the proposal, the study suggested CRSSA funding allocations for administration to consider.
