A child's pain can be difficult to quantify and qualify. -Children vary in their cognitive and emotional development, medical conditions and operations, and their responses to pain and therapies. Young children, especially infants and toddlers, may not have the skills to articulate their pain experience effectively. The skills develop around the age of 3-4 years.
